INTERSKALACTIC
DEBUT EP LAUNCH plus support AFTER THE IBISHailed as “the future of ska in Ireland” (Ryan Tubridy, The Late Late Show), Interskalactic have firmly marked their place as a truly unique favourite on the Irish live music scene. Adding their modern big band style to first-wave, old-school Jamaican ska, Interskalactic have brought this infectious music that first exploded worldwide with celebrations of Jamaican independence in the ‘60s back into the live music scene of today!
Interskalactic know how to keep a dance floor busy. Their upbeat set features not just their own original music – big band ska with that oldschool Jamaican flavor, but also covers from classic ska artists including Prince Buster, The Skatalites and Byron Lee & the Dragonaires as well as their own ska-ified versions of popular hits from the last few decades.
Stellar live performances since the band’s formation in 2013 include: • RTÉ’s The Late Late Show • Electric Picnic, Body&Soul, Cork Jazz, Sea Sessions Festivals • Opening for Madness M.A.D.H.E.A.D. Tour in Ireland’s largest indoor venues 3Arena Dublin and The Odyssey Arena Belfast • Performances in prestigious venues Vicar Street and Whelan’s and at countless festivals, events, parties and venues all over the country. With an incredible few years behind them and the release of their debut EP in March 2017, Interskalactic are set to stay on this trajectory throughout the year and beyond!
“The future of ska in Ireland” – Ryan Tubridy, The Late Late Show
“We were delighted we recommended Interskalactic to Madness to open on their Irish tour dates. They were a pleasure to deal with and completely professional at every level, and it’s always reassuring to see a band that size set-up and clear the stage with no disruption to the main act. They really had the audiences rearing to go for Madness as well! We’ll be keeping an eye on Interskalactic and look forward to working with them at every opportunity” – Bren Berry, Aiken Promotions
“Interskalactic are one of the premier live ska outfits in the country at this moment, their authentic rhythms get the dancefloor going immediately. Looking forward to hearing more from them and what they are cookin’ up in the studio in between their busy schedule” – Mark Murphy, Choicecuts
“Interskalactic were hugely successful at the 2013 and 2014 Cork Jazz Festivals. The reaction of the fans and the venue management was overwhelmingly good! Here’s to another great festival in 2015” – Jack McGouran Artistic Director, Cork Jazz Festival
“Energetic, fun and well played Jamaican ska that always gets a wonderful response from audiences. Interskalactic are a joy to work with” – Alastair Foley, Button Factory
“Their presence on stage overwhelmed the audience, amazingly talented musicians and high standard vocals. They put on an amazing show and entertained the 700+ people to the highest standard. The dance floor was filled with music lovers thoroughly enjoying Interskalactic’s performance” – Christine O’Reilly, Head Organiser, This is Dublin Ska Festival
“These guys took to the stage and somehow made festival-goers remember that they were there to rejoice. They carry with them a optimism that seems to cross the stage and into the crowd, and they know how to enjoy themselves. Thoroughly engaging and cool to deal with” – Hugo Jellett, Programmer, Salty Dog Stage Electric Picnic
“Interskalactic recently performed at the new St. Patrick’s Festival outdoor stage, ‘Live on the Green’. They were a brilliant addition to the line up and put on a fantastic performance, getting thousands dancing on the streets of Dublin” – Susanna Lagan, Creative Director St. Patrick’s Festival
“Interskalactic was one of the liveliest and most fun gigs we’ve had, and they’re a genuine pleasure to work with” – Conor Duggan, Owner The Harbour Bar, Bray

SPECTRUM Live:
RONAN GUILFOYLE’S ‘HANDS’
(IRL & US) _ Main Venue _ SPECTRUM live presents Ronan Guilfoyle’s ‘Hands’, a project that represents both the best in contemporary jazz as well as its international, collaborative nature, with two of New York’s most respected jazz musicians Tom Rainey and Dave Binney, joining composer and bassist Ronan Guilfoyle, and emerging guitarist Chris Guilfoyle. Dave Binney is one of contemporary jazz’s finest saxophonists – always in demand, recording extensively, and extending the role of the soloist in contemporary jazz. Tom Rainey is one of most highly regarded drummers in modern music, and has a reputation for his combination of technical brilliance and creative flair, always placed at the service of the music. ‘Hands’, as the music on the CD of the same name shows, reveals Ronan’s long time interest in combining composed music with freewheeling improvisation. As you would expect from someone so involved in the world of rhythm, the music is both groovy and filled with rhythmic surprises. Dave Binney and Chris Guilfoyle interweave lines, deft counterpoint, and improvisational power, all played over the kind of rhythmic forward motion and legerdemain that is the result of Ronan and Tom’s twenty year association.Music of power, passion, intrigue and creativity – Guilfoyle’s ‘Hands’ is state of the art jazz music for our times. ‘It’s music akin to good poetry. Distilled meaning, alluring at a first sight, but whose pleasures and insights reveal themselves more fully with repeated visits’ – Londonjazznews.comTICKETS

plus supports THE SILK ROAD ^ Upstairs ^ Cider Wasps are a four piece alternative rock band from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Ireland. The band consists of brothers Danny and Tommy Dunford, Stephen Keating and Colin Drummey. The band formed in early 2013 and have been gigging in various venues across the country since but as of late have started hitting the Irish festival scene with an appearance at Indiependence 2016. Their music consists of strong harmonising vocals with all 4 members singing, melodic and distorted guitar riffs and a mix of heavy drum beats and basslines. They draw influence from the likes of Kings of Leon and Biffy Clyro when it comes to writing their own music. The band launched their debut EP entitled ‘HERE’ in the autumn of 2015 which featured their single Lúnasa. Many radio stations and DJ’s picked up on the EP immediately and it began to hit the Irish airwaves on stations such as WLR-FM, Beat 102-103, CRY104FM, and 98FM to name a few. ‘ETHEREAL’ is the new EP which is being released on March 14th and being toured across the country during the month of March. ‘ETHEREAL’ features the singles Hummingbird and 80BPS. Formed in BIMM, the band drifts effortlessly between summer pop tunes to heavier, overdrive drenched styles, all while keeping an obsessive focus on solid hooks and singalong choruses to create a fresh, retro tinged style of Indie Rock. The band had a busy year in 2016, headlining several shows in Whelan’s and Sin E for the release of their Single Maggie, with highlights at Whelan’s Summer watch 16, Le Cheile Festival, Ruby Sessions and featuring at Hardworking Class Heroes. Young Earth started off 2017 at Whelan’s Ones to Watch and with three singles(Worth It, Got A Secret and Let Go) ready to be released, the band are only getting started. Press: “Tallaght slo-mo indie-pop newcomers Young Earth are a band well capable to knocking out killer harmonies and melodies” – Jim Carroll, Irish Times (On the Record) “‘Pitch perfect harmonies and vocal arrangements.. make ‘Maggie’ a dead cert for plenty of radio play and spark a definitive interest in what their next follow up might sound like. “ – Remy’s Music and Film Blog “Maggie” is a solid summer single that will sound deliciously gorgeous on your next sunny afternoon drive. – 24ourMusic “There is a brilliant degree of focus in the sound which is focused to give it a 60’s revisionist vibe …This adds flavour to the modern indie calling they have” – Unsigned and Independent “‘Maggie’ was a pinnacle track in terms of emphasising their unique sound” – Dublinconcerts.ieTICKETS
