As part of SPECTRUM festival weekender, Homebeat present SPECTRUM club – a celebration of the beautiful frayed edges of LIVE contemporary Irish electonica featuring the ethereal ambience of Dublin producer Kobina’s glitchy soundscapes as well as the vital live vocals and driving synth of White Collar Boy’s pop electronica.

Presented by Improvised Music Company (IMC) in association with Note Productions and Homebeat, SPECTRUM is a new festival experience for fans of innovative music-making, presenting a diverse programme of music that flows through the prism of the jazz approach; its output a miscellany of sound, covering the full spectrum from jazz, progressive, rock, alt-folk to electronica. A weekender festival 10-12th March in Whelans and The Opium Rooms on Wexford St, Dublin.

Saturday night is the big night at SPECTRUM kicking off with a double-header of the contemporary sounds of European progressive music, followed by Homebeat’s SPECTRUM club.

Full Saturday Night ticket is just €20 bringing you on a full SPECTRUM jouney through the jazz instrumental cinematic sounds of Belgian trio Dans Dans, to the balls-out progressive rock of riot grrrl Hedvig Mollestad and Trio, back to the spacious glitchy soundscapes of Kobina and the freewheeling rhythms, razor-sharp hooks of pop-electronica two-piece White Collar Boy.

White Collar Boy are Mark Cummins and Gavin White, a two-piece electronic band that formed in Dublin in 2011. Since their initial release ‘Kinsale’ the pair have become a mainstay on the Irish festival scene playing everywhere from Forbidden Fruit to Body & Soul and more boutique festivals such as Drop Everything .

The Dublin based, electronic musician, Sean Arthur or Kobina (as he is more commonly known) pulls together diverse and disparate musical strands to create a uniquely textured and emotive sound. In 2013, Kobina released his debut album ‘Ahome E.P’ and more recently in 2016, released a follow up entitled ‘Sentinel Island’. Both albums have been received enthusiastically with prominent reviews from Goldenplec, Nialler9, The Last Mixed Tape and many more. The artist have also been praised for his recent collaborations with reknowned Irish vocalist Blooms and London duo 4am.
