Sunday the 30th of April sees Niamh Regan headline her first solo show in Dublin’s live music venue Whelan’s.
Special Guests on the night include the band Saramai and the multi instrumentalist/songwriter Anna-Mieke.
Niamh Regan is a 22 year old singer, guitarist and songwriter originally from Galway, ‘who catches our ear with a sweet, pure folk voice bursting with potential’ – The Irish Times
Her genre of music can be described as Alt pop/Folk/Singer-songwriter.
‘Regan’s voice has the inflections of UK folk music singers like This Is The Kit, to a lesser extent, Laura Marling combined with the gasping rasps of Karen Dalton. It’s a timbre that is commanding and wise, that pushes vowels around in interesting ways. You can detect a Nick Drake influence on the music too.’ Nialler9
After a successful summer of Festivals in 2016 including Body&Soul Main Stage at Electric Picnic where, ‘’Crowds gathered – all of whom seem to have plenty of eyes locked and ears perked for the offerings.’ – State Magazine, She now releases her EP having worked and recorded with producer Alex Borwick from New Zealand. On the 30th of April, Upstairs in Whelan’s she will launch this well anticipated work.
‘One thing is for sure, we’d love to hear more.’ – Folk Radio UK
‘For Irish folk singer Niamh Regan, the future has never looked better.’ – Pure M magazine
