29th 1994 was the day the Britpop landscape changed forever as five unknown lads from council estates in Manchester released their debut album – that band was Oasis, that album was Definitely Maybe.
Pinhole are a quirky Irish-based 4 piece, brandishing the “alternative” flag but deliberately skating over genre boundaries with the result that they stand alone in their unique sound. Having tried and tested new material in packed venues in Dublin and Cork. (Whelans, The Bello Bar, Coughlans of Cork) they have just recorded their debut album. Their new single 6 Kenley Avenue is being played on 2FM, Today FM, BBC Five and Newstalk. They have appeared on the infamous Other Voices TV series. Their tangental approach to song writing has been likened to being “in a dark fairytale”. It is refreshingly new and addressing topical issues. From delicate melodies to raw mayhem, they take you on a roller coaster journey of the senses. They have been likened to a reinvented Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Bat for Lashes and Portishead to name a few…
Elaine Malone is an Irish psychedelic-folk songwriter. Hailing from Limerick, she currently resides in Cork, where she has carved a name for herself as an idiosyncratic songwriter. Known for her haunting voice and poetic lyricism combined with grunge roots and psychedelic leanings. Her debut single ‘You’ was premiered on Nialler9 in February and received international airplay. Her recent appearances include Quarter Block Party, It Takes A Village and support slots for O Emperor, David Keenan and Marlene Enright. Her debut EP Land was recorded with fellow artist Sam Clague in a small home studio over the course of a year. Described by Dan Hegarty of 2FM as “quite something – what exactly? Striking, stunning and heartfelt are three words that go some way to encapsulating it.”

Drogheda based outfit who are crafting some seriously catchy upbeat indie & alt-pop anthems. Formed in 2014, Modern Love. have played support slots to the likes of The Academic, Apella & Hudson Taylor and have earned a firm following for their ethereal and energetic live shows. They have just released they’re first song “us” available on Spotify and iTunes and have played their first couple of Electric Picnic shows.
Love Ghost is a Los Angeles based band whose lead singer Finnegan Bell has always been fascinated with his Irish roots. Named partly for Irish legend Finn McCool, from the time he was a child Finn Bell has heard the tale of the Giant’s Causeway, Benandonner and Finn’s wife Oona. When urged to do a cover song for the band’s latest album – Finnegan chose to cover the Irish folk classic “Danny Boy”. Finn and his band-mates Mya Greene, Samson Young, and Ryan Stevens turned “Danny Boy” on its head, morphing the traditional folk with their grunge-rock influenced style. The success of the song at the Love Ghost live shows led to a online introduction to the Irish band “Modern Love”, and the two bands decided to do a cultural exchange. This December, Love Ghost will be touring Ireland with Modern Love, and Modern Love coming to LA to play shows with Love Ghost sometime next year. Both bands have had a fair amount of success thus far in their young careers. Love Ghost has opened for Smash Mouth, Berlin, TheTubes, Fuel, Buckcherry, The Young Dubliners, Ozomatli and Irish musician Mundy. They have played The Roxy (3 times), The Troubadour, The Whiskey, The Viper Room and nearly every other venue in Los Angeles. They have released an EP (Love Ghost Vol. 1) and a full-length album (Lobotomy). Modern Love has had success throughout Ireland and has released several singles.
The tour will begin in late December, and we will be making a documentary about the journey. We aim to capture Love Ghost’s reception in Ireland, the meeting and bonding of the 2 bands and what they learn about each other’s music along the way. The 2 bands will be playing shows at 6 Irish venues:
The documentary will be co-directed by the two band’s managers. Love Ghost’s manager, Dan Bell, runs a successful casting business in Los Angeles. He casts commercials and documentaries and has worked consistently with Academy Award winners Errol Morris, Alejandro Inarritu, Chivo, Lance Acord, Mark Romanek and a host of others. A former actor, Bell had prominent roles in “Darkman” starring Liam Neeson, the “Wayne’s World” movies, The Last Seduction, Impulse, and many others. He has also produced (and directed one) the Love Ghost music videos, which have won awards at Film Festivals all over the world (including the Jean Luc Godard award from Cult Critic Film Magazine). Modern Love’s Joe Rooney has had a long a varied career as an Irish character actor and comedian. His best-known acting role was that of Father Damo in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted . He features in the episode ” The Old Grey Whistle Theft “. Rooney has had a starring role in the RTÉ television comedy, Killinaskully , in which he plays Timmy Higgins which ran for five series . Joe also wrote on the fourth and fifth series of Killinaskully. Joe currently hosts the podcast PodaRooney on which he interviews guests who are mostly involved in the entertainment industry. Joe has performed stand up worldwide including New York, L.A., San Francisco, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Brussels, Moscow, Muscat (Oman), Manama (Bahrain) and Dubai. The two hope their years of experience will lend to a unique perspective for this project.
