Whelan’s presents a night of hilarity with two of New York’s funniest Irish Comedians.

Colum Tyrrell and Sean Finnerty are two of the most talked about and exciting acts in the New York comedy scene today. This December they bring their unique and energetic comedy stylings to Whelan’s for one night only. Come catch two of Irelands fastest rising stand up comedians before they’re playing stadiums.

When Colum Tyrrell started his career in Dublin his talents quickly became known in the Irish circuit as he became a finalist in the national broadcast TV show RTE New Comedy Awards .

In the same year he won the prestigious new act competition Show Me The Funny. In 2013 he made his debut at the Galway Comedy Festival supporting Kevin Bridges.

Colum has played Electric Picnic and The Iveagh Gardens Comedy Festival and supported Jason Byrne, Lee Mack, Steve Hughes and Andrew Maxwell.
He has appeared on RTE’s Republic of Telly and was chosen as one of the main subjects of the TV3 documentary The Stand Up’s.

Colum’s debut Edinburgh Fringe Festival show (2016), received critical acclaim including a 4 star review from The Scotsman and him being quoted as “A new Jim Jefferies in the making”. Colm has started to gain significant recognition in the New York comedy industry and can now be seen performing at prestigious clubs all across America. Colum’s last show in Dublin was in Whelans in 2016 and it sold out, do not miss this show this time.

After 21 years “growing up” in Longford, Sean Finnerty moved stateside where he started stand up comedy after a series of mature decisions that he failed to make. A finalist on Stand Up NBC, Sean was also selected for Comedy Centrals “Up Next” and can be seen hosting Season 9 of Fireball Run on Amazon Prime. In comedy, he has opened for WWE hall of famer Mick Foley and made appearances at festivals internationally including Edinburgh Fringe, Electric Picnic, Boston Comedy Fest and Laugh Your Asheville Off.
