EMMA LANGFORD
QUIET GIANT ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR plus support ^ Upstairs ^ Emma Langford is a singer-songwriter from Limerick city. This artist possesses a powerful signature vocal style blending the Irish lilt with a Latin beat; music that brings together elements of jazz and folk. Sparse guitar work delicately complements a profound natural sense of melody, while wry yet insightful lyrics and a uniquely cheerful demeanour combine to create an engaging and personable presence. In style and sound, Emma is most often compared to influences Eva Cassidy, Nora Jones and Joni Mitchell. In early 2016 Emma received international acclaim for Tug O’ War, a home-recorded song about anxiety, which propelled her to a national audience. On the back of this, she successfully crowd-funded and launched her self-titled EP in June of the same year to a sold-out date in Limerick. The EP has since received considerable radio play on RTÉ Radio 1, Lyric FM and she has performed live in studio at Newstalk Radio on numerous occasions. She went on to tour some of the country’s foremost venues, and played the Electric Picnic, Indiependence and Doolin Folk Festival in 2016. The young artist has shared a stage with internationally recognised artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Vladimir & Anton, Declan, O’Rourke, Ham Sandwich, Roisín O, Hermitage Green, and Ben Caplan to name but a few. Emma is currently balancing gigging and writing with completing an MA in Community Music in Limerick, while planning a tour of Germany & Switzerland and the release of her debut album for late 2017. “Absolutely stunning” – Ed Smith, Today FM “Langford has confidently laid out ten reasons why she has the creative edge needed to stand out from the rest” – Goldenplec Praise for Emma Langford: “A breath of fresh air… Very easy on the ear.” – Phil Coulter “…there’s an almost angelic quality to her material.” – Hot Press Magazine When We Met, live at Dolans 2016: Tug o’ War, solo home video featured on independent.ie: Seduction of Eve official music video featured by Nialler9:TICKETS

Hue & Cry announce TWO Irish Shows for 2018 and new single, the sublime, ‘Let Her Go’ The new album, Pocketful of Stones – now on release — — — — — Hue & Cry in association with Aiken Promotions are delighted to be coming back to Ireland for two shows in 2018, and this time Pat and Greg are bringing their full band. The dates are: Whelan’s, Dublin – Sat 3rd March 2018 – Ticket price – €25 inclusive of booking fee Empire Music Hall, Belfast – Friday 2nd March 2018 – Ticket price – £25 inclusive of booking fee Tickets go on sale from ticketsmaster.ie at 10am on Friday, 20th October. — — — — — “Marvellously talented men” – Jools Holland, BBC Radio 2 Platinum selling duo Hue & Cry (Patrick and Gregory Kane) released their newest album this autumn. Pocketful Of Stones. An album of masterful ballads and anthems, Pocketful Of Stones is the brother’s first record of completely original material since 2012’s Hot Wire. The title track issued on line this summer features The Glasgow String Quartet. The new single from the twelve-track long play is the beautiful ‘Let Her Go’ featuring vocals from Pat’s youngest daughter, Eleanor Kane. The song was penned in tribute to Eleanor flying the nest and carving her path. To coincide with the service of ‘Let Her Go’, we are thrilled to announce two Irish shows for 2018. Hue & Cry, together with their band will play Empire Music Hall, Belfast on Friday 2nd March and Whelan’s Dublin on Saturday March 3rd 2018. Tickets costing Stg£25 and €25 respectively, including booking fees, go on sale Friday 20th October from Ticketmaster. The band has been under taking a series of shows across England and Scotland in celebration of the album’s release across the last few months. These dates continue through the back end of November, and include a date at prestigious Glasgow Royal Concert Hall alongside The Average White Band On November 23rd. The last time Pat & Greg played Dublin it coincided the release of 2012’s ‘Hot Wire’, so these shows in Dublin and Belfast is very welcome news, five years on! Hue And Cry caught the public’s attention in the late 80s with a string of chart friendly hits, including ‘Labour Of Love’ and ‘Looking For Linda’. Tracks that formed the sound track to the school years of many of us! The band’s pop sound was not to last, however, as in the 90s they took an experimental turns, and demonstrated their abilities to slip in and out of a multitude of styles, including jazz. After the six album exploration, the Kane brothers felt compelled to go their separate ways and pursue individual creative outlets. However, the hiatus was short live, ending in 2005 when the revitalised Kane brothers were inspired to return to their pop roots albeit with a modern, matured outlook. 2008’s Open Soul was followed by the seasonal offering Xmasday, 2012’s funk inspired Hot Wire, in 2014 a reworking of Remote was released, (Remote: Major To Minor), to celebrate 25 years since its original, a jazz inspired re-imagining of the much beloved second Hue And Cry album, and September Songs (2015), an intriguing album of Frank Sinatra covers. The new album, Pocketful Of Stones exhibits the full spectrum of Hue And Cry’s formidable sonic repertoire. Pat’s soulful vocals, paired with the tense of musical build ups, and the dynamic shifts and mood of Greg’s compositions. The sound is brought to life with the expert musicianship of Hue And Cry’s band, “they’re all over this new album, Pocketful Of Stones”, Pat explains, “and they power our live shows to greater heights. We’re working with an amazing community of younger generation musicians who were inspired to take up their instruments by our big albums like Seduced And Abandoned, Remote, and Stars Cash Down. It’s a golden era for us in Scotland in terms of sheer musical talent, and we’re proud to highlight and showcase that on Pocketful Of Stones.” Together with the songs from the new album Pocketful Of Stones, we are sure that some of the long loved favourites from our school days will also feature in the 2018 live shows too! Band Members – Studio / Live Pat Kane – Vocals Greg Kane – Keys Alyn Cosker – Drums Paul Mills – Additional Drums Allan McKeown – Guitar John Paul Speirs – Bass Paul Towndrow – Saxophone Tom MacNiven – Trumpet Tippi – Backing Vocals The strings recorded on Pocketful Of Stones were provided by The Glasgow String QuartetTICKETS – POSTPONED
