EMMA LANGFORD

QUIET GIANT ALBUM LAUNCH TOUR

^ Upstairs ^

Emma Langford is a singer-songwriter from Limerick city. This artist possesses a powerful signature vocal style blending the Irish lilt with a Latin beat; music that brings together elements of jazz and folk. Sparse guitar work delicately complements a profound natural sense of melody, while wry yet insightful lyrics and a uniquely cheerful demeanour combine to create an engaging and personable presence. In style and sound, Emma is most often compared to influences Eva Cassidy, Nora Jones and Joni Mitchell.

In early 2016 Emma received international acclaim for Tug O’ War, a home-recorded song about anxiety, which propelled her to a national audience. On the back of this, she successfully crowd-funded and launched her self-titled EP in June of the same year to a sold-out date in Limerick. The EP has since received considerable radio play on RTÉ Radio 1, Lyric FM and she has performed live in studio at Newstalk Radio on numerous occasions. She went on to tour some of the country’s foremost venues, and played the Electric Picnic, Indiependence and Doolin Folk Festival in 2016. The young artist has shared a stage with internationally recognised artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Vladimir & Anton, Declan, O’Rourke, Ham Sandwich, Roisín O, Hermitage Green, and Ben Caplan to name but a few.

Emma is currently balancing gigging and writing with completing an MA in Community Music in Limerick, while planning a tour of Germany & Switzerland and the release of her debut album for late 2017.
