ZRAZY

^ Upstairs ^

Zrazy continue their New Album Tour (with full band) when they play Whelan’s Upstairs on May 5th. They have recently released their new single ‘National Anthem – Women of ‘16’ of which all proceeds of the download go to the Charity Focus Ireland (see zrazy.com)

Dubbed ‘Duo of the Year’ by Hot Press 2016, Zrazy go back in time to celebrate the forgotten women of the Easter Rising. The full Zrazy band performed their new ‘single’ – a feminist take on the Irish National Anthem put to an irresistible electro-swing dance track, live in the GPO on International Womens Day March 8, 2016.

The garlanded song-writing team of vocalist Maria Walsh and pianist, saxophonist Carole Nelson boast a lengthy and critically acclaimed creative partnership that has recorded six albums, toured much of the world and have won an array of awards globally. Zrazy are a unique amalgamation of pop, jazz and celtic influences that have continued to radiate positivity and accumulate accolades throughout their 22 year career:

  • USA GLAMA for Best Song with Remember (that you did it first with me),
  • USA OutMusic award for Best Album Dream On,
  • Gold Disc for a No.1 Hit in Ireland with Ooh aah Paul McGrath.

‘Irish Duo return with dazzling new collection…The Art of Happy Accidents……Maria Walsh and Carole Nelson have musical talent to burn…… …The duo specialise in a blend of smooth jazz, cocktail lounge soul and funk that’s infused with dance-come-electronica textures and rhythms – topped with lithe and enchanting vocals. These diverse elements are melded, and duly stamped with the unique Zrazy signature, It is one hell of a brew.’ … All told, The Art of Happy Accidents is the work of a class act.’ – 7/10 Colm O Hare, Hot Press
