Common Grounds Collective is delighted to announce a return to the Poet & the Player. Following a packed show in Whelan’s last summer we’ve remade and improved and are ready for what promises to be something even more spine-tinglingly magical.

The Poet & The Player is a pairing of traditional and newly-hewn melodies, prose & poetry which have been written & brought together especially for the night.

Featuring some of the highest regarded traditional musicians in the country such as Alannah Thornburgh, Jason McGuinness & Navy Cut alongside some of the incredible poets Common Grounds has stumbled across in some of the most magical parts of the country, the night will weave two strands of Ireland’s rich artistic tradition into a stream of never-before performed works.
