THE MINUTES ANNOUNCE NEW WHELAN’S SHOW
No Sleep ‘Til Wexford Street on 15th October
Having rocked Oxegen to tumultuous and universal acclaim; The Minutes motor on with what is sure to be a hot ‘n’ sweaty night of weapons grade music mayhem. The lads will be showcasing songs from their just released debut album ‘Marcata’, which has been met with glowing acclaim from the ladies and gentlemen of the press:
**** A cacophonous, confident and crushing slab of authenticity, steeped in the anarchic history of rock ‘n’ roll – Hot Press
“A thundering combination of old school rock ‘n roll with modern guitar music. The Minutes have taken their time in getting here and it was worth every second” 8/10 – State.ie
**** “You want to bang your head until it and your neck ache” – Irish Daily Mail
**** “It’s as fresh and rewarding a rock record as you’ll hear this year” – entertainment.ie
“Authentically gritty, pulse-quickening rock ‘n’ roll in the grand style” 7/10 – AU magazine
Whelan’s holds a special place in the pumping black heart of The Minutes; being the scene of a famous residency where they honed and perfected their lethal garage rock cum blues-punk howl to growing audiences in summer 2008. Back here in summer 2011, The Minutes are taking a scorched earth approach to the Irish festival circuit: no field left unrocked. At the same time plans are taking shape for a European album release and tour in the Autumn.
Having crushed the Workmen’s Club to capacity on the ‘Marcata’ launch – boys and girls literally crying to be allowed in – “The greatest rock ‘n roll band in Dublin” (Artrocker) will be taking no prisoners.
The Minutes. Live at Whelan’s, Dublin. Saturday 15th October. Tickets priced €10.00 inclusive of booking fee are onsale this Friday 22 July from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie
