SOLID SUN
Formed in early 2014, Solid Sun introduced the Irish rock music scene to their ear-catching heavy tones with a highly successful tour later that year in support of Acca Dacca, the world’s foremost ACDC tribute act.
Following the tour the band were busy writing and recording their debut EP “Fall In Line” which released in August 2015. The band supported this with a string of gigs around their Dublin base but uncontent with surviving on just four released tracks the band got working again in the studio.
“Today Is The Day” was the follow up single from the four piece in 2016 and was greatly received with the song being used by O’Neills for their 1916 commemoration jersey online campaign and by artist Barry Jazz Finnegan for his online art videos.
After playing to a full house in the Button Factory in January, the band are releasing four new singles throughout the summer of 2017, which includes the song “Dead Machines”. In support of this Solid Sun will be doing a number of gigs around Ireland to bring their sound and craic on stage to as many people as possible. Each member is also a sound engineer which means the band are fascinated with acoustics as well as live performance and aim to bring a high level of energy, edge and character to every gig.
Bursting with creativity and ready to blow the roof off a venue near you the half Dublin, half Limerick group consists of…
Tom Slattery – Lead vocals and rhythm guitar
Raffaele Puzzuoli – Lead guitar and backing vocals
Andy Ryan – Bass guitar
Niall O’ Carroll – Drums
“The Smallest Move is a hugely impressive slice of heavy indie rock from Solid Sun. Foo Fighters used to be this good”
– Danny McElhinney, Irish Mail On Sunday (about the first single from Fall In Line; The Smallest Move)
“A stupefying electric debut EP from Dublin alternative rockers Solid Sun. Just try to keep your head still during “Some Kind of Party”
– 9/10 – Bernard Drumm, shredload.com
“Solid Sun are among a class of rock bands that still write songs for well-rounded performances”
– Liam Doyle, The Thin Air Magazine
“In a time of manufactured music, its always good to hear a good old fashioned rock n roll band. Solid Sun play no nonsense, in your face, ax-grinding rock. Hard rock at its best! “- Roddie Cleere, Irish Music Show, KCLR (Kilkenny)

THE FELONIES
The Felonies are a young, vibrant 4 piece band hailing from County Wicklow. Founded in 2015, their unique sound encompasses progressive garage / indie rock, having taken inspiration from The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Led Zeppelin and Kasabian.
They have a unique and original sound that benefits both studio and live. Having played in venues including Fibber Magee’s, The Harbour Bar, Whelan’s, The Button Factory & The Sugar Club, the band is eager to expand their live performances to a wider audience in Dublin.
Their debut EP, “Impossible, Impractical”, launched in November 2015, gained immediate notoriety among their loyal fan base. DublinConcerts.ie, in their review of “Impossible, Impractical”, said:
“Impressively, in spite of their age, they’ve already released a gem of a debut EP, full of belting indie tunes and pulsing rock anthems. Combining indie rock with hard rock, they’ve created a sound that is unique to themselves as a band, and this benefits their energetic live shows as well as their catchy guitar-based original music.”
“The Felonies blow our pre-conceptions out of the water with their brilliant melding of indie/rock and hard rock and a sort of Arctic Monkeys feel to their sound. ‘Second Attempt’ is like early Arctic Monkeys, with clashes of steel guitar and relentless drumming – it is just an infectious track of musical perfection. ‘Fire in the Snow’ is a more steady-burning track, more focused on the gruff vocals of the boys, with a grittier guitar feel”
“It’s amazing to see such a young band to have such finesse to their sound, it’s powerful and focused, and everything that music should be – one can only wait in anticipation for what they have to offer in 2016.”
Their debut single ‘Repetition’ is due for launch March 10th 2017.
