Seven Quarters is an exciting new club night that returns on July 4th to Whelan’s of Wexford Street, as part of the venue celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The official launch on Friday April 25th with Katie Kim and Jennifer Evans saw the limited edition vinyl sell out instantly and this time we have Patrick Kelleher and Magic Pockets taking to the stage with limited advance tickets that include a limited edition vinyl available at

Seven Quarters is different from any other club night happening in Ireland, as we will be giving punters a different limited edition seven inch vinyl, featuring previously unreleased tracks, from the artists performing each club night. This seven inch vinyl will be given away for free to the first 150 people in the door as part of the club entry of €10 with limited advance tickets which guarantee you a copy of the vinyl for €12 including booking fee.

Seven Quarters is a new project by Barry Lennon (Richter Collective, Community Of Independents and Hands Up Who Wants To Die) and is set to feature some of the most exciting acts in the Irish music scene. “I am very excited to announce the second club night in the series after the huge success of the first one last month with Katie Kim and Jennifer Evans; it’s also very exciting to work with both Patrick Kelleher and Magic Pockets on this next edition. I hope people take advantage of the limited early bird tickets we have on sale as it ensures you a copy of the vinyl and prevents disappointment” said club creator Barry Lennon.

The name of the club Seven Quarters is based on the idea of the word seven referring to a 7” inch vinyl and the Quarters part is based on the fact the club will happen four times a year.

Details on each of the acts playing:

Patrick Kelleher is Dublin-based and has been making echo-drenched ghost pop since 2008. His performances; cryptic but honest communications, are at once bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and bored.

Evolving out of the chaos of his Cold Dead Hands, Kelleher’s solitary performances rely on his somnolent vocals, heavy beats and engaging stage presence.

The reverb clouds westering, clearer and colder sonic skies lie ahead.

Magic Pockets is the solo synthesizer project of Ruadhan O’Meara (No Spill Blood).

His dark analogue compositions draw upon the works of Tangerine Dream, Goblin, Ashra, Heldon, Fabio Frizzi, Klaus Schulze, John Carpenter etc, combining the meditative and absorbing qualities of Kosmische Musik with the stark tension of vintage horror soundtracks
