Road Wives, otherwise known as dj, producer & recording artist Jack Quinn cut his teeth on the scene in Dublin, France, Spain and the US. Road Wives wrote, co-produced, sang and performed on all tracks along with some other choice guest talent including CC Brez on guitars & bass, Zamo Riffman (forthcoming John Carney – director of Once – film Sing Street) and singer Eve Macklin (Cats, Les Miserables) on backing vocals. Road Wives does live shows with his band as well as dj sets. His band is made up of such talent as Stephen Kinsella on drums, Cormac Strain on bass (79Cortinas) and Karen Denieffe onvocals and keyboards. Auxiliary Phoenix is James Strain, a producer, multi-instrumentalist & DJ based in Carlow, Ireland. Coming from a background of progressive rock, jazz fusion, hip hop and turntablism, these elements are combined through modern experimental hip hop production. Auxiliary Phoenix has produced remixes for underground hip hop legend Divine Styler, Lisa Papineau (AIR), Bosnian Rainbows & Bearcubbin’, amongst others.

The music is performed live by the Auxiliary Phoenix Quartet, which includes James McDermott on keyboards, Jake Quinn on drums & Evan McDermott on guitar, with Auxiliary Phoenix on bass. The Quartet strips away some of the electronic layers of the music and brings out more of the jazz fusion that is at the core of the songs.

The forthcoming EP Camelopardalis is a combination of jazz fusion and hip hop production, with live fretless & 5-string basses, guitar and drums, accompanied by big beats and synthesizers. It is due out on Inner Current Recordings in 2016.

Auxiliary Phoenix is also one half of High Elders, a collaboration with Delaware emcee Gentle Jones. The debut album ‘Forest of Pencils’ came out December 9, 2014 on Little L Records. The album was Album of the Week for the start of December on Dan Hegarty’s 2FM & 2XM show, ‘The Alternative’. The follow up mixtape ‘More Magick’ was released in May 2015.
