Grouse launch their third album with a full band show Upstairs in Whlean’s, Friday May 27th.
Starting in San Francisco as a studio project, Grouse has more recently emerged as an eclectic mix of Dublin-based musicians.
Taking the tracks of Grouse main man, Ronan Carroll and arranging them for a live audience has given the cinematic, atmospheric, dubby electronica of Grouse a new dimension.
Combining organic instruments (guitars, bass, drums, brass, vocals, percussion) with synths and samplers, the 6 piece band creates a unique live sound.
The music has been described as “spacey, hypnotic and chilled-out” (Hot Press) with “foreboding, dark ambience” (Golden Plec) and Dan Hegarty of 2FM described previous album, ‘Heads’ as “one of the best of 2012”.
Brand new Grouse album, Oslo, will be available on CD on the night.
Support comes from Dublin electro band, Tiny Magnetic Pets.
