Electric Picnic 2011 Warm Up Gig

Irish 5 piece GHOST ESTATES have been together since March 2010, the band started gigging barley 6 months ago and they already have a debut album recorded. The album was recorded at Sun studios by John Henry and at Volt Studios by Ghost Estates Daniel Doherty. The album was mixed by Marc Carolan (Muse, Snow Patrol).

So far the band have released 1 track “Paris” as a free download their sound has been described as

“A hugely Haunting and alluring rattle” Jim Carroll-THE IRISH TIMES,

“A euphoric sound built for the live stage” THE POINT OF EVERYTHING

“It’s electronic, it’s ethereal in places and poppy in others. Something about it is working, though. I pressed play on this track no less than four times yesterday” LOUDERSOFT.COM

“A very different sound to what is out there at the moment” 2 UI BESTOW

“This band are comprised of ex-members of Sickboy and 8Ball! Probably the most unlikely meeting of minds I could ever predict, nonetheless it really works for them. The post-punk edge of Sickboy has been smoothed out to a more laid-back vibe, merged with the poppier strains of 8Ball and cranked up for a dancefloor” HARMLESS NOISE

“PARIS” was also selected by Nialler9 as Irelands track for the monthly map feature which comprises of 36 tracks from 36 countries. HOTPRESS also selected it as track of the fortnight and in turn gained the band national radio play.
The band have been gaining a reputation as a great live act, with an Irish tour and two festival appearances at Castle Palooza and Vantastival under their belts they are now gearing up for their biggest show to date at this year’s Electric Picnic alongside Arcade Fire, Pulp, The Chemical Brothers, PJ Harvey and many more top acts. They have also been selected to play at this year’s IMRO showcase tour and the Hard Working Class heroes festival in Dublin.
GHOST ESTATES are set to release their second single “Forever Or Never” on August 26th as a free soundcloud download

GHOST ESTATES will be releasing a 10” record in October/November featuring previous download only releases “PARIS”, “FOREVER OR NEVER” and the new album version of “OCTOBER” on their own Slap In The Face Records.
Although no release date has been set for the album they are hoping to release it early in 2012 and are currently looking for label support and management
