The Circle Sessions is a not-for-profit performance collective based in Dublin, established in February 2014. We are known embracing the individual’s creative talent and nurturing through advice and respect, in small intimate venues.

In its short 3 year life, The Circle Sessions have already staged events at Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, Scrobarnach and the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts and Film Festival, not to mention weekly events in The International Bar (Dublin) and The Harbour Bar (Bray).

We are delighted, with the help of IMRO, to be able to bring to Whelans a selection of our ‘best bits’ in the third of a series of larger Dublin showcase events; having already hosted similar showcases in The Sugar Club and The Academy.

For our acts, this is a perfect chance to push themselves forward on their journey of performance; for us, it’s a great chance to push the boundaries of our inclusive space and open us up to a wider audience.

So, here’s who we’ve got coming up!

– Natasha Helen Crudden (Punk Poet)

It would be fair to say that Natasha is not everyone’s cup of tea. But merely because she’s most people’s rocket fuel, with a side of hard whiskey. Expect a 240v ride through the seemly and not so seemly aspects of human interaction.

– Joshua Dowling (Singer/Songwriter)

A BIMM student with a perfectly delicate vocal and 200 yard stare. Could be accurately likened to someone who rhymes with mozier.

– Tommy Keyes (Singer/Songwriter)

(Noun) Ivory Tinkler. Tommy’s wealth of songwriting and performance experience is unrivalled at circle sessions. Watch out for a skilfully crafted intro and transportation back to your formative years.

– Bobby Burke (Poet)

A self-confessed stargazer, Bobby is Circle Sessions’ answer to Frost, delicately probing human reaction to nature and the most important of life’s little questions.

– Meg LaGrande (Singer/Songwriter)

Canadian by birth, but more Irish than all of our other acts put together. An orchestra of one with a passion for traditional music that it is nothing short of infectious.

– Charlie McAuley (Singer/Songwriter)

Where poetry meets music, literally. Famous at Circle Sessions for his poetry introductions to his balllads, Charlie will have his whole band on hand to add the perfect depth to his musings.

– Liam Oragh (Singer/Songwriter)

Composer extraordinaire and winner of multiple awards, Liam brings his quirky style and the energy of a newly finished album.

– Sean McComish (Singer/Songwriter)

A catchy loop-tastic act just back from a recent tour of Austria. More layers than an OAP on pension day in January.

– Clare Brennan (Spoken Word)

An English and Drama Major straight out of Michigan. Clare helps her audience to criss-cross the Atlantic with her in spellbinding fashion.

– Justin McCann

A Circle Sessions Stallworth with more talent in his little fingers than most have in their whole bodies. Justin drives a piano led band through jazz and blues with emphasis on African rhythm. Interested yet?
