NEW CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC
New California Republic are a Dublin based americana band with an indie/alt-rock feel, or alt-country and sludge as they like to call it. Having spent two years in Toronto, ON. frontman David Singleton immersed himself in the Local Alt-country scene there becoming a founding member of the Sad Boys Glee Club, upon his return he reunited with former Half-State bandmate Chip McCann to start a new project taking influence from his time in Southern Ontario. With former Social Circuit Drummer Mikey Corrigan behind the kit, the traditional country sound was ripped away for more of an upbeat indie feel, this was paired with the spangly pop guitar stylings of Keith Kavanagh and Emer McDermott on fiddle to round out the indie/country sound.
