A Plastic Rose are here to inject some much needed passion into our lives. The Belfast/Sligo four piece have been blowing minds all over the UK and Ireland with their incendiary live shows, and are set to release their debut mini-album, The Promise Notes, in 2011.
Over the last two years, the band have become key players in the increasingly fertile Northern Irish music scene, leading the way in a scene which has included the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, General Fiasco, and And So I Watch You From Afar.
And people have been listening. Having featured on the likes of BBC Northern Ireland’s ‘Art Space’ programme, or UTV’s ‘Live at the Limelight’, the band are no stranger to the small screen. BBC Radio 1 are also fans of the band, having selected them to be the first unsigned band to feature on the Radio 1 playlist, as well as sending them to the Reading and Leeds festivals.
However, when they take to the stage, A Plastic Rose have the power to make you forget everything and focus completely on what they have to say. Fusing the emotion and power of Biffy Clyro to the rock showmanship of the Foo Fighters, A Plastic Rose are on a mission to break your heart, whilst simultaneously rocking you til you can take no more. All across the country, their performances have inspired scenes seldom seen in sleepy towns…crowd surfing….mass singalongs…absolute rock and roll abandon…to see A Plastic Rose is an unforgettable experience.

PAUL SHEVLIN
Belfast based 18 year old singer/songwriter brings his unique brand of piano pop to Dublin. Recently described by Marsha from XFM as “a massive star of the future” and signed to the respected Di Di Mau label.
His creative and honest songs are piano centred with influences ranging from Ben Folds to Nina Simone. Although the genre of Paul’s music is hard to place, one reviewer recently came close with the term “indie-soul”, a description that is now used as a reference point for Paul’s tunes.
His dynamic live show, usually as an energetic three piece, was aptly described by one BBC music journalist as “piano pounding intensity and softly tinkling melancholia”. The live highlight of 2010 was supporting one of his first musical inspirations, Duke Special, at a low key show in Belfast.
His melodic songs have been heavily featured on BBC Radio 1 ‘Introducing’ and BBC Radio Ulster ‘Across The Line’ program. In 2010 Paul recorded several sessions for radio broadcast and made his television debut in November for BBC 2 program ‘Blas Ceoil’.
In January this year Paul became the latest signing by Di Di Mau, who will release the next single ‘Backfire (Set Them All Alight)’ on 28 March 2011. Paul is currently working on new material with songwriter James Flannigan who is signed to B- Unique Music.
PRS have just tipped Paul in their most recent ‘M-Magazine’ publication and duly placed ‘Backfire (Set Them All Alight’) on their four track Podcast.
Paul will be touring with his band throughout the UK and Ireland in April 2011 to promote the aforementioned new single ‘Backfire (Set Them All Alight)’.

LEVITY BREAKS
Having only formed in late 2010, Levity Breaks are already making a name for themselves as one of the most exciting alternative rock bands to launch onto Northern Ireland’s music scene. With a sound that speaks volumes of experience and epic tracks that move from whisper-quiet notes to huge anthemic walls of sound, led by powerful vocals that have been compared to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Levity Breaks are a band that brings a new sound that is both energetic and engaging. Between Levity Breaks as individuals, they have previously toured with artists such as Snow Patrol, The Buzzcocks, British Sea Power, Iain Archer, The La’s, Bell X1, The Frames, Nine Black Alps, The Ordinary Boys and have featured at prestigious festivals such as Oxegen, T-Vital and The Electric Picnic. Members of the band have also recorded sessions for Universal Publishing under producer Paul Cook of the legendary Sex Pistols. The band have already picked up a strong public following after only a handful of gigs in Belfast ranging from an almost packed-out show in Laverys, as support to Microlip at the Spring & Airbrake and SO:NI at the Pavilion. They have now also been short listed to play upcoming shows at the Empire’s Gifted and as part of BBC Introducing’s Radar (TBA) and are preparing to excite audiences on forthcoming performance dates in Belfast and Dublin. 2011 is going to be a tremendous year for the band as they work towards their first single launch. Studio work has already begun with the band set to make this a special first release and work is also in progress for their upcoming EP which will be announced later in the year.
