We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jeff Buckley’s masterpiece Grace. In the year where Whelans also celebrates it’s 30th year as a venue(Jeff played here twice in his career) some of Ireland’s most talented singers and musicians will gather to perform Grace in it’s entirety followed by a selection of other songs and covers from Jeff’s catalogue.

Cub Sport are an independent and self-managed pop group from Brisbane, Australia. They will headline Whelans (Upstairs), 12th October 2019. Tickets €15.00 inclusive of booking fee, on sale Thursday at 9AM.
SOMA is back at it this month in Whelans and we have two of Irelands newest and most exciting guitar bands playing live sets.
Odd Morris just dropped their debut single ‘What Might Be’ which quickly got the attention of blogs and Dublin music lovers a like. Odd Morris have delivered a sound that’s dark, ominous, and wildly eneregtic we’re extremely excited to be having them headline SOMA #029 and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the SOMA stage.
The Wha have emerged as one of the youngest and brightest additions to the Irish guitar scene. They’ve managed to obtain a sound that is distinctly their own but draws from guitar heroes such as The La’s and Libertines. This is no mean feat and it’s no wonder why they’ve being dubbed as one of Ireland’s most exciting new prospects.

SOMA originated as a series of house parties in Dublin hosting bands and DJs until stupid o’clock. The SOMA clubnight aims to carry on the house party tradition, showcasing Dublins best up and coming bands followed by a sweaty party soundtracked by all your favourite indie and alternative bangers.

Tiz McNamara’s independent releases have racked up over 5 Million streams on Spotify as well as featuring on UK TV shows ‘Hollyoaks’ and Emmerdale. Tiz has received support from some of the industries heavy weights including BBC Radio 2, Amazing Radio and NME.
Tiz has also toured with BRITS ‘Critics Choice Winner’ James Bay.
The Irishman was delighted to be asked to sing alongside one of his musical heroes Sir. Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Shane McGowan under the name ‘The Justice Collective’.
Last year Tiz played each of Ireland’s Major music and arts festivals, Electric Picnic, Indiependence, Sea Sessions and Castlepalooza. He recently embarked on a string of Irish and UK dates before a month long tour of Canada taking in more than 25 shows in 30 days.
With new music on the horizon, Tiz returns home for an Irish Tour in August, taking in some of the country’s most high profile venues and festivals.
Scott Williamson, 24-year-old BIMM graduate and singer songwriter, blends Americana Rock and Folk with a Pop aesthetic to create catchy and relatable tracks you’ll find hard not to sing along to.
