This is the fifth album from one of Britain’s best loved bands, and their first in over three years. On ‘Curve of the Earth’ Mystery Jets relocated back to London and set up their own recording space in a disused button factory.
Producing the record themselves Blaine Harrison, Will Rees, drummer Kapil Trivedi and latest member, bassist Jack Flanagan, found themselves rediscovering the gang mentality that bound the band together at the start. As a result this is the Mystery Jets’ most personal and musically definitive record to date.
Will Rees commented “For us we’ve been through quite a lot in the last couple of years and there have been certain realisations that come with playing in a band that has been together for over two decades, I think these songs have real feeling about them.”

Singer Shobsy, guitarist Joe Regan drummer Paul Ridgeway and bassist Noel Perry are all students at BIMM Music College in Dublin. The atmosphere at BIMM encourages collaborations and musical friendships to blossom. Bonding over a shared interest in classic 80’s music and a common desire to write big stadium sized songs the guys decided to work on a music project. This early incarnation lead to the formation of State Lights in May 2014.
Progress was immediate and the band quickly decamped to Granard Co Longford to record their first songs in Joe Regan’s home studio. The first result of these sessions was the ‘Breakout’ EP which articulates tales of young love, rejection and hope underpinned by a classic vocal style wrapped around a big atmospheric sound. The EP quickly gained traction and eventually peaked at No 6 in the Irish iTunes Album Charts. Radio support was immediate with the group being selected as ‘Artist of the week’ on the critically acclaimed ‘Totally Irish’ show on 98fm with significant airplay being received on 2FM and TXFM also.
2015 Kicked off in style with a headlining performance at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition before a crowd of 4000 students at Dublin’s RDS arena. They then headlined the ‘Whelan’s Ones to Watch 2015’ Festival before a storming set at the First Fortnight Festival at the Button Factory. The band ended the month by performing as Special Guests (alongside The Riptide Movement) at the prestigious entertainment.ie awards.
The band received their first UK radio play on March 27th when they were selected to appear as ‘Shock of the New’ on the influential Jo Good show on XFM while their first US play arrived through KROQ 106.7 (LA) who played ‘Breakout’ on March 29th. Further airplay was received on Flux FM in Germany and WBOS 92.9 Boston also. The ‘Passport Approved’ radio show which is syndicated to over 25 major stations globally featured the band alongside Kodaline, Hozier and Gavin James as part of a special feature on Irish acts in May.
During the summer the band performed storming sets at both Indiependence and Castlepalooza festivals.
“Dublin’s State Lights show why Irish music is booming in the current climate. A young band armed with some excellent U2-style riffs and a singer possessing both a stunning voice and a magnetic stage presence” (Dublin Concerts)
The band are currently writing and recording material for an EP release slated for February 2016.Already it is easy to understand why critics view State Lights as one of the best new bands in Ireland.
“State Lights – Dublin band whose debut EP “The Breakout” is full of bracing, assured rock/pop tunes and who already have a sound which is aiming for stadiums and arenas. Frontman Shobsy’s voice is one of their key assets, but the musicianship underpinning the songs is also pretty striking at this early stage. The sound of a potentially very large crowd” – Jim Carroll, The Irish Times

The Lucan quartet has been busy these past few months embarking on the release of their lauded album, “Getting Through”, in the UK and Europe. An early review from The Guardian declared the record as “..impassioned and anthemic – and they deserve their big moment”.
The album topped the Irish charts and achieved Gold status for the band while the lead single “All Works Out” was a Top 10 hit. Both album and single were nominated for Choice Music Prize “Album Of The Year” & “Single Of The Year” respectively.
While they have not stopped to catch a breath yet, there’s no sight of the band slowing down any time soon having played festivals such as Electric Picnic, Reading & Leeds, The Great Escape, Benicassim and T in the Park this summer.

Brass Phantoms are a four-piece indie rock band from Dublin, formed in 2014. The members came together over a collective interest in powerful, energetic and catchy music.
The band began with Ryan and James going to school together. James, with a keen interest in music, wanted to start a band, asking Ryan to join. After months of refusing to play with him, at concert in Dublin they decide to work together. Over the last years of school, they began writing songs and working on developing a particular sound that to them was both fresh and energetic. As the songs were coming the next major move was getting other band members. Scouting all the drummers in Dublin, that they could find at least, Ryan and James came across Adam McCabe. Adam became the drummer and introduced Ryan to Brass Phantoms’ future guitarist, Greg Whelan, at a party where they bonded over similar tastes in music. And so the band was formed.
Brass Phantoms released their self titled debut EP in 2014. That same year the group promoted the EP playing high-profile festivals including Guinness Amplify, Sunsets Festival, Galway Fringe Festival and the Waterford Art Beat Festival.
In early 2015 the band’s track ‘Tell Me What’s Your Game’ was named Feature Track of the Week on Dublin’s 98fm, receiving airplay on radio stations worldwide.
The band’s next single, Kaleidoscope, is due to be released in September 2015, before the band release their second E.P, “City Of Wolves” in early 2016. “The best band you never heard of…”
Following appearances at the Great Escape Festival in the UK and a mind blowing performance at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in London Warsaw Radio released their GIVE IT ALL TO FEAR E.P on Sept 12th 2015 with a sell out show at the Unitarian Church in Brighton, UK.
