Milo Greene have just announced details of a special free show Upstairs at Whelan’s on Saturday, January 26th

Doors midnight.

Milo Greene are set to release their self-titled debut album on January 21st through Fierce Panda, this is followed by the release of their second single, ‘1957,’ which is due for release on February 18th.

The LA band will also be making their UK and Irish live debut, beginning in Bristol on January 22nd and ending in Brighton on January 30th. The headlining tour includes an Irish show at Upstairs at Whelan’s on Saturday January 26th. The cinematic dream-pop band are well known for swapping around instruments during their live shows.

Their recent debut single, ‘What’s The Matter,’ saw an astonishing number of spot plays from the likes of Huw Stephens, Mary Anne Hobbs and Steve Lamacq, as well as catching the attention of Paul Lester for a Guardian New Band of the Day. 2012 has seen the band break America with support slots with The Walkmen, Grouplove and Civil Wars and performing on The Letterman Show and Conan O’Brien.

Friends from college, Andrew Heringer, Robbie Arnett and Marlana Sheetz originally created the character Milo Greene as their manager to promote their various individual music projects. Forming in 2011 and joined by Graham Fink and Curtis Marrero, they thought it only natural to pay tribute to the imaginary manager / booking agent that had represented them throughout those college years, so called themselves Milo Greene.

The band enlisted Ryan Hadlock (Ra Ra Riot, Metric, Islands) as co-producer and recorded their debut album at Bear Creek Studios, a converted barn just outside Seattle.
