Le Boom late show with Mix & Fairbanks
Friday November 24, 11.30pm – late
Whelan’s

After a crazy summer where Le Boom rocked Electric Picnic, Lattitude, Body&Soul, Indiependence, Truck Festival, Castlepalooza and many more, Le Boom are taking it back to the sweaty indoors with a late night show in Whelan’s with support from disco dance DJ pals Mix & Fairbanks.

LE BOOM are an electro-indie-house-pop duo based in Dublin, Ireland.

LE BOOM formed in June 2016 by Christy Leech and Aimie Mallon and, since then, have brought their electro-indie-house-pop show to cities such as New York, Reykjavik, Cork, Belfast, Galway, their hometown of Dublin and festivals like Latitude, Body&Soul, Electric Picnic Truck Festival, Castlepalooza and Independence.
LE BOOM’s late-night shows are a frenzy of glass-bottle beats, layered loops, catchy vocal hooks and sweaty fans who dance like no other fans in the world.
LE BOOM’s debut single release release, What We Do, received airplay on both US and Irish radio. It featured in the Summer 2017 ad campaign for Vodafone and has over 120,00 plays on Spotify.

‘About to break into America in a big way’ – Louise Parker (Paste Magazine/US)

‘Perfect for dancing the night away to’ – Emily Chu (Impose Magazine/US)

‘Possibly the best live electronic act to come out of Ireland’ – Phil Udell (State Magazine/IRL)

‘So so promising’ Rigsy (BBC/UK)

What We Do is a fine debut single release, informed by the synth-pop of Hot Chip and lo-fi dancefloor atmospherics (Irish Times / IE)

MIX & FAIRBANKS

https://www.facebook.com/mixandfairbanks

“It’s edits like this that force a smile on even the most cynical pouts and it’s the kind of tracks that you remember from the night before, like some hazy hands in the air dream.” – The House Of Disco

Delectable disco cuts aren’t exactly the order of the day in the countryside of Newbridge, Ireland but that hasn’t done anything to temper the efforts of Gary O’Reilly and Rob Smyth, better known as Mix & Fairbanks.Their clever sampling and dance floor nous has enabled them to create a stream of quality cuts, which brought them to venues like The Button Factory, District 8 and Pygmalion and festivals such as Body & Soul, Longitude, Castlepalooza, Life Festival and Electric Picnic.

2017 has several releases from the duo so far; the first two installments of their ‘Made & Played’ free EP series; remixes for Le Boom, Ships, and RTÉ Choice Award nominee Bantum; their first original track ‘Girls’ on 045 Recordings; and Orange Tree Edits Vol. 3, which spent a week atop the Juno Charts. They have received support this year from Skream, M.ono, House of Disco, Nialler9, Get Down Edits, and radio play from 2FM and TodayFM.
