Jamali Maddix, acclaimed comedian and host of Viceland’s Hate Thy Neighbour, brings his brand-new show Vape Lord to Dublin this October.
Vape Lord sees Jamali mix unflinching and brutally honest material on the state of society, with personal tales of hate and moral confrontation from his travels around the world.
In his inimitable style – truculent and philosophical, with just a hint of silliness – Jamali asks many of life’s important questions: Is his status as an oppressed minority under threat? Was going teetotal worth being this bored? Is being ‘triggered’ a white privilege? Are the evils of hipsters worth it for the coffee and vape? And how much more disgusting does he have to be in bed if he’s ever going to get another girlfriend?
After a full run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Jamali will embark on a UK& Ireland tour, culminating in a huge show at Hackney Empire on 3rd November – the first venue that inspired him to become a performer after watching shows there with his father and where he got his first big break on the John Bishop Show. The tour will then go international, with dates in Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Lithuania, with dates soon to be announced in USA.
As well as Hate Thy Neighbour and The John Bishop Show, Jamali’s reputation has burgeoned thanks to appearances on Live at the Apollo (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (More4) and Dara O’Brien’s Go 8-Bit 8 (Dave).
