^ Upstairs ^ Simon O’Driscoll, who goes by the stage name “DRISCO”, was born on the 17th July 1995 in Dublin, Ireland. He is eighteen years old. While he had been involved in dancing and acting, a musical career was also beckoning. Drisco began practicing music at aged eight when he started not only keyboard lessons but the piano also. After years of watching his Dad sing and play guitar, he thought it was about time he also taught himself how to play. Soon he began to pick up more instruments, learning to play them by ear which now include guitar, piano, drums, ukulele, the cajon and the bodhran. In 2010, Drisco entered a competition called the ‘Coca Cola School Stars’ in the TLT in Drogheda with nothing to lose, but little did he know that this very competition would be the beginning of his musical career. After going through a series of auditions and stages in the competition, he eventually made it to the grand finale. Here, he performed his first original song. As a result of taking part in this competition, many doors and opportunities were opened for Drisco, and so he has gone on to support such acts as The High Kings, Keywest , Stewart Agnew, Sinead McNally and Ryan Sheridan. He also supported Jedward in an outdoor concert in Dundalk to a crowd of nearly 4,000 people. Drisco has also performed as a guest performer in several school talent shows across the country, even acting as a judge in some occasions. He has been writing and recording his own material for the last three years. His wide range of influences, such as Bruno Mars,Kodaline,Paul Simon,The Vamps and Ed Sheeran, have all contributed in creating his unique pop acoustic sound. Travelling the Dublin gig circuit, Drisco has had the opportunity to play in a number of established venues which include Whelans, The Workman’s Club, The Button Factory, Bruxelles and most notably the Ruby Sessions which in the past has hosted world famous artists such as Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini, Hozier, Mumford & Sons, The Coronas and many more. Drisco is a hardworking young man, with a wealth of experience, striving to perfect his talents. He regularly plays venues around Ireland and has radio performances around the country and even as far away as Manhattan to his name. He plays acoustic guitar, piano, mandolin and ukulele. He can act, can sing and can dance! He’s your one stop talent shop! http://youtu.be/wzg4mzJLzZM http://soundcloud.com/kymannpowermusic
