THE STATICS
SUMMER SOIREE
plus guests
The Statics are throwing a Summer Soiree aka Free Gig, yes FREE, for all their fans new, old, young, bored, and those who haven’t grown ears yet. It’s a chance to say thank you for all the support so far and start off the summer as they mean to continue it. Great summer vibes and even better music all in the one venue.
Join them on Thursday 19th June 2014 at Whelans Live Main Venue to kick off the summer and provide you with the sounds to keep you dancing.
The Statics are a Dublin four piece (from all over) creating jangling indie-pop with echoes of The La’s, The Beatles, The Coral and the Arctic Monkeys. In the last 8 months The Statics have played alongside Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Duckworth Lewis Method (both Dublin and Belfast) and The Mighty Stef in addition to many gigs around Dublin city. The Statics are creating a strong following within the Dublin scene and beyond building on the success of their debut single ‘Alone’ which was picked up for radio play on 2fm, Spin 103.8, 98fm and was in heavy rotation on Phantom FM.
A busy summer lies ahead but for now The Statics have their sights set on June 19th in Whelans.
What people are saying about The Statics:
“I love it when a young talented bunch of reprobates leap forth from a rip in the time/space/pop continuum and remind us all of how it’s done. Effortless pop takes a lot of effort – The Statics make it look and sound effortless. Their name may imply that they’re happy to stay where they are, but this gang of four are only beginning a great musical journey that we should all happily follow them on. Long live The Statics!” – Thomas Walsh (The Duckworth Lewis Method & Pugwash).
“The Statics write damn fine melodic pop songs…. We highly recommend you see this band live and defy you not to have a good time.” – Stephen Byrne, Goldenplec.com
“It’s been a while since hearing a band like this, too long in fact, There’s is heart warming indie-goodness played with energy and a refreshing honesty and conviction, not to mention an overwhelming ability to get you moving” – Barry Gruff Music Blog
