THE KANYU TREE

MCD presents…..

THE KANYU TREE

+ LEAVING LA VEGAS

The Galway band’s Choice-shortlisted single ‘Radio’ was co-produced by the band and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) and mixed by Chris Potter (The Verve, Keane). A constant presence on the airwaves since its release, it’s a contradictory combination: a bittersweet, pitch perfect paean to the unpredictable, restorative power of the FM dial: ‘I change the frequency, but find that I want to turn back again… Radio, oh you let me know of the mistake I made when I let her go.’

The Kanyu Tree are Daniel, Shane and Oisin Cluskey – three brothers from Galway in pursuit of the perfect pop song. After playing festivals like Oxegen, Electric Picnic, Sea Sessions and more last year, the band released their debut album, ‘People Street’, in late September 2011. They followed it with a headline tour, which culminated in a sold-out show at Whelan’s in December. The band also supported The Coronas on their sell-out Irish tour at the end of last year.
The band’s new single, a new version of fan favourite ‘Congratulations’, has just gone to Irish radio stations. The band has just completed shooting the video for ‘Congratulations’, which will be premiered in the coming weeks.
