RUFUS COATES & THE BLACKENED TREES
[EP LAUNCH]
THIS GIG IS HAPPENING IN ‘THE BOYS SCHOOL’ AT THE SMOCK ALLEY THEATRE
Folk/blues mavericks Rufus Coates & The Blackened Trees are proud to announce the launch of their much-anticipated debut EP at Smock Alley Theatre in Temple Bar on Friday March 15th. Despite their relatively recent ascension to the vibrant family of eclectic folk artists currently making waves on the Dublin music scene the band have already played with a number of notable UK & Ireland acts including Katie Kim, The Filthy Six and Louis Barabbas. Armed with beautifully-crafted songs & punctuated by the haunting vocal harmonies from Rufus and his partner in rhyme Jess, 2012 saw them take the stage at a range of Irish festivals such as Electric Picnic, Whelans Ones To Watch, Knockanstockan and Jack Of Diamonds Rhythm & Roots while Communion Dublin have listed them as one of their favourite live acts. 2013 has already started with a bang for the band as Other Voices recently welcomed them to perform on their 2013 Dingle music trail and a UK tour is scheduled for the end of this coming summer. Smock Alley on March 15th is the perfect setting & time to catch this wonderfully arresting band as they begin what should be a stellar recording career.
