SYLK are an electronic duo based in Dublin. Showcasing a distorted black and white sound along with noise, harmony and visuals their tagline is Manipulation. Distortion. Controversy. SYLK are bass heavy, rhythmic, cinematic and lyrically dark. Following the release of their debut single ‘Am I Alone’, SYLK were named as the Irish Times ‘New Artist of the Week’ and described by Nialler9 as a “Cross between Massive Attack and FKA Twigs”. Following the release of SYLK’s debut EP ‘nwyr’, they have performed in places such as Wah Wah club, Whelans, Body&Soul and Hard Working Class Heroes Showcase. SYLK have been featured in Hotpress Magazine as one of the rising acts you should keep an eye and an ear on.

Alex Smyth is an instrumentalist rightly putting his stamp on the ambient cinematic scene in Dublin. Equipped solely with a guitar, drum machine and a suitcase full of effects, Alex is capable of creating soundscapes that Nialler9 has described as being “a little bit lo-fi, a little bit Balearic and a little bit chillwave”. Having released his debut EP, The Utopian Dream in December 2016 Alex is excited to now showcase his new material, due to be released in 2018. His shows now combine atmospheric melodic adventure with visual elements that can go from micro to macro depending on his surroundings.
