Tonetoaster Records is a small German record label focused mainly on singer/songwriter and folk music in its various guises. Having worked with many Irish (e.g. The Mighty Stef, Ghost Estates, The Last Tycoons) and UK acts over the past 5 years through releasing their albums as well as booking shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Tonetoaster are now showcasing some of their Irish artists at a three date tour over Ireland.

In 2013 the label celebrated its 5th birthday by hosting a celebratory concert in its hometown Langenberg and the artists playing had the idea of taking this concept further and staging similar events in their respective hometowns and countries.

The first overseas Tonetoaster showcase took place at Dublins iconic Whelan’s venue back in November 2013 and continued with two U.K. events in Glastonbury and London earlier this year. “We’re really looking forward to the Irish gigs and are very grateful that the bands involved are so keen about putting these kind of shows up,“ says label owner Michael Langewender.

By the end of May the label is showcasing their artist in the following cities:

28.05.2014 – Dublin, Whelan’s
29.05.2014 – Cork, Coughlan’s
31.05.2014 – Newbridge, Liffey Studio

The show at Whelan’s will feature perfomances of Lucky Bones, Knoxville Morning as well as Master & Dog. As a special guest for the Dublin show, Gordon Reeves will be joining the bill at Whelan’s.

GORDON REEVES
Gordon Reeves is a globetrotter who likes to „come home after work with my hands full of mud.” He indeed is as faithfully and gently as you can hear it in his songs. His style somewhere between Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, Gordon is a singer/songwriter who takes his songs voicefully and straight out to the audience. Gordon has been the very first artist, that Tonetoaster signed back in 2008.
