Formed in late 2011 as an acoustic trio, In The Willows has since grown to a six piece folk band that has established themselves as one of the best upcoming bands in the country. Festivals appearances at Castlepalooza and Indiependence were followed by an appearance in Whelans, Dublin for the final of the national battle of the bands Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition.

The Waterford band’s debut EP ‘Long Time Listener’ has received regular airplay on both local and national radio and has received a number of extremely positive reviews from Hot Press Magazine as well as some of the country’s leading music websites. A national tour at the end of 2012, which included an appearance at the Other Voices Music Trail was followed by an award for Best Newcomer at the Music Review Unsigned Awards ceremony which wrapped up a fantastic first 10 months for the band. More recently In The Willows were selected for the final four of the Meteor & Today FM ‘Grab A Grand competition and were featured artists on the Paul McLoone show with a live session to come later in the year too.

With a debut album expected next year and upcoming single release (Rowing Boats) in June, 2013 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for In The Willows and their spiralling, atmospheric and harmony driven sound.
