#GIRLBOSS BOOK CLUB

Opsh + Lovin Dublin Present:

#GIRLBOSS BOOK CLUB

– Upstairs –

Dublin is in the midst of a start-up boom. Throughout the city, in basements, spare rooms and attic offices, young Dubliners are huddled in front of their computers, planning world domination with their latest business idea. They got sick of waiting for success to arrive from and decided to make it happen on their own. And for a lot of them, that success is close.

Plus, for the first time, women are properly represented at the forefront of new companies. In the past, it was only the maverick men who quit their steady jobs and decided to forge a path on their own; nowadays, women are joining them in increasing numbers.

The rising phenomenon of young entrepreneurs, especially female ones, is going to be the topic at our first book club event, hosted at Whelan’s in Dublin on 7 October. Click here to get a ticket!

We’re going to lead a panel discussion on the rise of women and start-ups inspired by#GirlBoss, the autobiography of Sophia Amoruso. Written for outsiders with big ideas, it covers her journey from teen thief to CEO of a $100-million company in just a few years. We’ve joined with Dubray Books to offer everyone who buys a ticket to this event €5 off the book’s price, so get reading! Please see www.dubraybooks.ie to find your local branch or order your book online.

If you’ve ever wanted to start your own business, or just want to hear what life is like for Dublin’s youngest companies, then join us on 7 October for a no-holds-barred discussion. We want to hear what you have to say!
