During lockdown 2020, producer and writer Tim D’Arcy and singer Harry Keyes’ musical interests aligned to form the indie-rock band ‘YAWA’.
‘Tiger’, their first single, was the culmination of their early exploits and they have since released 6 singles.
Following sellout shows in the Workman’s Cellar and Bellushi’s Rooftop Berlin in July, the pair are delighted to announce their debut in the Whelan’s Main Room.
Written by London-based music blogger ’Sound Sniffer’: “YAWA are an Irish duo worth keeping a close eye on if you are into indie sounds sculpted for a beach/holiday playlist. Their sound is caught somewhere in-between the bubbly and vibrant style of early Two Door Cinema Club and the bass driven sound of Mystery Jets.”
Coming to Whelan’s on the 15th of September, they will publicly premiere their new single ‘Things I’m Not Supposed To See’.
