‘Lies’ accompanies the announcement of the band’s May/June 2024 headline tour where they visit Cork, Dublin, London and Sligo’s ‘Wild Roots’ Festival.

The track confronts feelings of loyalty in a relationship, written about the discomfort one feels knowing their partner is hiding something from them. The song’s dreamy guitars serve as a platform to prepare for blistering choruses drowned in thick vocal harmonies.
‘Lies’ is the first track featuring the drive.’s newest addition – Aaron Kenny – who when asked about the song’s creative process stated: “we all contributed to and debated every idea, we’ve really labored over this.”

About the drive.
Initially formed in 2018, Cork-based outfit the drive. now consists of Eoin Murphy (guitar/vocals), Aaron Kenny (guitar), and Alex Redmond Galligan (drums).
An arsenal of standalone singles saw the group secure international press, radio & streaming attention including the cover of Spotify’s ‘Alternative Ireland’ playlist & additions to the platforms ‘melomania’, US airtime, and immeasurable online & print press across Ireland and the UK.
A band acclaimed for their exciting live performance, the drive.’s impressive résumé of stage-success includes festivals spanning the UK & Ireland, support to the likes of The Blue Stones, and an abundance of sold-out Irish headline shows including The Grand Social (Dublin) and Cyprus Avenue (Cork).
