Scustin are purveyors of “Post – Funk”. Which they create by blending humorous storytelling with a jazzy funk take on indie rock. Their sound was created by imagining what would happen if Viagra Boys, Blindboy, Mike Skinner and Jamiroquai went for a boozy night out in Bray (Ireland) and wrote an album about it.
The band have taken the post-Covid world by storm, gaining notoriety at a rapid rate for their high energy, interactive live sets with an innate ability to make you smile, dance and sing. Swooning audiences around the UK and Ireland with songs like ‘The Ick’, ‘I’m Never Flying With Ryanair Again’ and ‘Drinking Cans In A Field With Matt Damon’.
2022 saw the band embark on their first UK & Irish tour, score festival slots at Electric Picnic and All Together Now, sell out shows in Galway, Limerick and Cork, establish themselves as new favourites at The Windmill in Brixton and release a string of singles and music videos. The year culminated with a sold out Dublin show and the release of their Christmas Special live performance video.
2023 has already been a whirlwind for the band. They played two sold out nights at The Academy supporting The Scratch, had a sold out show at The Windmill Brixton on St. Patrick’s day and completed a 16 date UK & Irish tour which was supported by Culture Ireland.
Festival season saw Scustin play to their biggest crowds to date across Body & Soul, Latitude (UK) and Electric Picnic with numerous sets at each. The band will finish the year recording their debut album, releasing their new single “Sometimes I Feel” on November 3rd and playing at the likes of Other Voices in Wales, Cork Jazz Festival and some headline shows in Dublin and London.
