The 5-piece art-rock band, Lifts, have quickly made a name for themselves with their unique live show that combines strong songwriting with unusual arrangements featuring violins, saxophone, and jazz drumming. Lifts’ live performances also showcase their homemade bass viola, run through a subharmonic synthesizer, creating a truly one-of-a-kind sound. The band, made up of 22-24 year olds, has been consistently gigging around Ireland since their formation in April 2022, with a recent tour taking Lifts to Limerick and Cork where their appearance was dubbed “mesmerising” in a positive review from Mike McGrath-Bryan on RTE 2XM. Their first EP, released in November 2022, saw airplay on Dublin City FM and RTE 2XM, and the band is now gearing up for the staggered release of their second EP in Summer 2023.
