Kenan Flannery is coming to Whelan’s for one night to bring you an intimate and heartfelt show of stories and songs and the chance to grab his tour-exclusive unreleased “Live Album”.
Get ready for a night filled with laughter, tears, stories and most importantly, a bit of singing. Imagine a campfire with friends.
Kenan at his core is a storyteller for the damned and broken, writing heart-wrenching songs and stories with a voice “that hits you with the intensity of a hundred Irish poets and musicians”. He mixes his upbringing of Irish folk/ballad music from the likes of The Dubliners with his love of American folk music and has been compared to John Prine, Townes Van Zandt and Blaze Foley. Kenan has been making waves across Ireland playing festivals such as Electric Picnic, The Secret Song and Sofar Sounds, performing alongside Ye Vagabonds, Lisa Hannigan and The Wolfe Tones amongst others.
Not only has he dazzled the crowd in Ireland, but also in the US and shared a stage with Nick Shoulders and Willi Carlise. After a successful summer of international touring and sold-out headline shows in Dublin, Kenan is hitting the road this Spring to play shows in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
