LUNA MOTIF & DOLLFACE
Whelan’s Upstairs • Tue 30th April 2024
Hook is Eoin O’Donnell (vocals, guitars); Niamh Carmody (bass, vocals); and Morgan O’Brien (drums).
Described as new wave indie rock, lovely comparisons have been made with Pixies, The Smiths, Neil Young, Elvis Costello and the Velvet Underground.
They play direct, honest music, trying to dispense with the distractions of the world today. Focusing on the positive, the light, the love that's out there, Hook sends out all the positives they can while keeping an honesty in the music. The songs are about the small moments, the brutality of love and finding the beautiful in the simple.
30th April will see them launch their new single “The Drugs Are Working” upstairs in Whelans. A song about searching for and finding whatever it is that can make the world a brighter place.
It’s not actually about drugs!
