Driven Snow start 2026 with new music and an opportunity to catch up with the band playing live in the intimate environs of Little Whelans. They will be playing songs from their critically acclaimed debut album, A Kind Of Dreaming, as well as offering up some brand new tunes and a smattering of beautifully reworked cover versions.
The band celebrate the beginning of 2026 by making a new song available – the achingly understated “Dawn Chorus”, which examines the mother-daughter relationship (in both directions) with a heart-stopping lyric written by Emily and featuring a spoken word performance from her mother.

Driven Snow are Kieran McGuinness and Emily Aylmer, whose musical careers and lives grew from their roles in the bands Delorentos and Republic of Loose, respectively. Their beautiful, dreamy pop tunes and vocal harmonies grew out of songs penned late at night, while their 3 children were fast asleep. Their debut album “A Kind of Dreaming” was released in 2024 to great acclaim and described as “Sublime” (Irish Times), “Bewitching” (Irish Independent) and “An album to luxuriate in. (Hotpress)”
Driven Snow’s releases have brought them a steadily increasing level of coverage nationally and internationally as well as airplay throughout Ireland along with plays across the UK, Europe and as far afield as USA, Canada, South Africa and Mexico.
Their songs offer a tantalising hint of the yearning curiosity in their songwriting via a mix of classic harmonies housed in uncluttered acoustic and electronic sounds. Influences include Neil Young, Beach House, Cat Power,Scandinavian TV shows and fireside beers. The realities of life as a musician in modern Ireland have never been more beautifully articulated.
