Traveling down the road less traveled by, a man arrives somewhere undisclosed and unforeseen.

He finds himself face-to-face with the infinite.

Suddenly, purpose presents itself.

He awakens to the sound of a cosmic love ringing in his ear.

Inscribing the songs of his tale upon the canvas of time immemorial, he decrees: I WAS HERE

Basil Breen is a singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland — emerging onto the Irish music scene with potent songs of love, heartbreak, and optimism.

Equipped with a commanding and powerful singing voice, he has been likened to artists such as Simply Red & PHD.

Basil has featured in the RTÉ: Behind The Music series.

He’s had appearances and has been played on radio stations including South Dublin FM, Tone FM, Near FM, Ocean FM & True Radio UK.

Having become a familiar face on the thriving Dublin busking scene, he has earned praise from celebrity passersby such as Keith Duffy & Ricky Hatton.

Recently joining the Irish musical circuit, he performs regularly at The International Bar’s Circle Sessions and the Smithfields Creatives.

He has also played shows at The Sound House, The Bello Bar, Sin E, Darkey Kellys and The Millbank theatre.

He was selected for and has performed at the Sea Sessions Unsigned Sessions in Donegal.

He has also performed at the The Works Festival, The Ballymaloe Garden Festival, the Bradys Sessions, & the Interesting Sessions.

Basil is currently putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated debut album with Rob MacLeod from Start-Up CBA who has worked with artists such as Thomas Cameron, Anna Carmody & Pat Fagan.

The first single from this album, Nelson, has now been released and was mastered in Abbey Road studios by Alex Gordan who has worked on tracks from Florence and the Machine, The Cocteau Twins and Sigrid.

He has also worked with Blinding Talent who’ve worked with artists such as Adele, Ed Sheeran & Billie Eilish.

Basil has numerous single releases planned this year, which will culminate in the release of his debut album sometime in Autumn.

He is also a software engineer hosts his own podcast, The Basil Breen Boombox, where he talks with other emerging artists, poets, entrepreneurs & creatives.

Basil emits an energy that is fuelled by his love for existence and an understanding of its finite nature.
