ÁINE GALLAGHER: CUP OF FOCALS
plus support
Little Whelan’s • Thur 23rd November 2023
In this show, award winning comedian, major ribbon enthusiast and Ireland’s “queen of offbeat” Áine Gallagher, manages to hilariously prove that speaking Irish is possible for us all. Using her quirky and deadpan style as her secret weapon, Áine tickles her audiences with stories about her own adventure of learning the language, the mistakes she’s made, Irish dating and naturally, mug-cake-baking. With a strong emphasis on forgetting about perfection, Áine succeeds in creating a wholly unique and wonderfully surprising comedy experience. A comedy experience that is bilingual, completely accessible and guarantees to reignite your grá for the language, even if you think you don’t have a word!
Áine has performed at festivals across Ireland and the UK. She has performed with David O’Doherty, Tommy Tiernan, Deirdre O’Kane, Gearóid Farrelly, Joanne McNally and more. She is also the subject of the award-winning documentary “Grá agus Eagla”, available to watch on YouTube.
