“THANK YOU DRIVER” Third album from the critically acclaimed Dublin-based quartet Featuring ex members of Pet Lamb, Stars of Heaven, Jackbeast, Legion of Two et al. Guest appearance by Cian Nugent on ‘Other Heads’ Available on red or black vinyl, streaming formats

Dinah Brand return with their third album Thank You Driver on Transduction Records, released on May 31st, available on vinyl LP and digital.

Dinah Brand songs go like this: Personal intimicies and universal anxieties hidden in obscure, confusing word bunches; combined with warm and erratic electric guitar tones and all, usually but not exclusively, shifting at mid pace drum time

Way back in 2002 Dinah Brand released Pale Monkey Blues, a classic piece of Dublin noir. In 2010 or so it was 2nd album I Can Walk Through – another sad and lovely suite

Lately taking cues and inspiration from Magnolia Electric Co., Richard Hell, Richard Dawson, Richard Thompson, Dick Diver, Cate LeBon, A Quick One While He’s Away, Street Hassle, Love, Mike Nesmith, Lucinda Williams, Cass McCombs, R Stevie Moore.

Their latest album (also a record) is Thank You Driver. This one, perversly, is as positive and angry as a natural melancholic can be, as sweet as it is dyspeptic.

Dinah Brand are: David Lacey – bass, Dylan Phillips – guitar/vocals, Gavin Ward – drums/vocals, Stephen Ryan – guitars. Never belonging but always available, three albums deep, Dinah Brand songs are your friend if you want it, you need never feel lonesome again.

Press for Dinah Brand’s second album, I Can Walk Through

“I Can Walk Through picks up where the first LP left off: quietly literate, thoughtful, country-hued songs” – Uncut

“The songs are shrouded in calm, guitar-led rock/pop that will be bliss to the ears of those who appreciate The Byrds, The Replacements, Big Star and Go Betweens” – Irish Times

“Compelling lyricism that delves into the human psyche” – Maverick Magazine

“There is soul in these songs, not in an old-fashioned sense but a timeless one, heartfelt, yearning, sincere and wishful, and as such this album could be played at any point over the last fifty years or more and find itself new friends” – Harmless Noise
