David C Clements has been grabbing the attention of music lovers through his exceptional live performances for quite some time, and by beginning 2012 with a series of 2-track EPs he has given his burgeoning fan base something more to hold on to. His is an epic and heavenly alternative folk; a mix of upbeat and energetic country, swelling melodies and crescendos, and vocals touched with the ache of experience retelling tales that feel at once both insightful and familiar. Clements has rightly developed a reputation as one of the finest songwriters in Belfast. Clements was already a well-respected musician having cut his teeth performing with former band Six Star Hotel, and by producing a number of Belfast’s top acts (Lowly Knights, Napoleon, and The Jepettos to name a few). Yet it is his solo material that demands most attention. He has performed a number of live sessions for BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 1, and recently featured on Film4’s vampire season trailer with his version of Devil Town.
