Cry Monster Cry and In Their Thousands have teamed up to play a double headline show in Whelan’s on Saturday 7th September. Tickets €13 incl. booking fee are on sale now from www.wavtickets.ie www.ticketmaster.ie and Ticketmaster outlets. Cry Monster Cry are Dublin brothers Richie and Jamie Martin. They create folk music drawn from a rich song writing history and brotherly harmonies. They released their debut EP “The Fallen” in 2012 after two months of writing and recording in a studio in the seaside town of Malahide. The past few months have seen them embarking on their first headline tour of Ireland as well as playing gigs with artists such as Sea of Bees, Wallis Bird, Hudson Taylor and Jape. The talented duo will be debuting some new material taken from their forthcoming album. Guinness/Hot Press Play On the Day winners In Their Thousands formed in late 2011, the band’s debut EP was released to acclaim at the Earagail Arts Awakening Festival in February 2012. They returned to the studio under producer Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers/Cathy Davey) for their second EP (Cellars) which was released in September 2012. The band continued to have success and as they went on win the Guinness/Hot Press Play On the Day National Final in November. To a capacity crowd in Whelan’s, Dublin they overcame their rivals in the prestigious competition. In Their Thousand have created some beautifully crafted songs with dynamic arrangements, powerful vocal harmonies and signature hooks barely scratch the surface of the band’s sound which can only be described as diverse. Their live set changes from stunning vocal harmony laced acoustic acapella folk to edgy electric alternative rock in a seamless progressive crescendo. Cry Monster Cry and In Their Thousands will play a number of headline shows around Ireland including the Dublin date in Whelan’s on Saturday 7th September.
