BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH
MCD.ie presents
BENJAMIN FRANCIS LEFTWICH
+ Marika Hackman & Joe Janiak
Benjamin Francis Leftwich makes a welcome return to Dublin in November, when he plays a headline show at Whelan’s.
Benjamin’s acoustic folk-pop has drawn comparisons with the likes of Jose Gonzalez, Iron & Wine and Ed Sheeran.
Having taught himself to play the guitar at an early age he went on to front indie pop outfit ”The Nicholes” in his teens, before embarking on a solo career.
As a solo artist he first attracted attention for his cover of Arcades Fire’s ”Rebellion” on the Dermot O’Leary Saturday Sessions show in 2010.
Then in 2011, his first single ”Pictures”, taken from his second EP, was declared ”The Hottest in the World Today” by Zane Lowe with his debut album ”Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm”, released in summer 2011. He has not looked back since…
