Music Venue
Since 1989 Whelan’s has established itself as one of the most iconic music venues in the world. Having hosted everyone from Jeff Buckley to Ed Sheeran, as well as countless local and independent artists, it is the home of music in Dublin.
The main venue holds 450 people standing, fitted out with a sound desk, lighting system, large pull-down screen and bar. Whether you’re hosting a fast and sweaty rock n roll gig or a corporate event, the Whelan’s Main Venue is the ultimate choice.

Bar
While live music is the life-blood of Whelan’s, it’s front bar and upstairs area are hugely popular late night drinks destinations.
With it’s rustic and casual charm, a wide selection of craft beers and spirits, Whelan’s is the perfect spot for a late night catch up with friends.
Looking for something more lively? Why not join the Silent Disco on every Mon-Wed in our upstairs venue, or dance to our resident DJs who play every Friday & Saturday night for the Indie Disco.
No tickets required – just rock up and rock out.
Parlour Bar
Want to throw an exclusive listening party? Or just looking to celebrate a birthday, work event or an occasion? Whelan’s recently remodelled Parlour Bar is the ideal setting to celebrate in an iconic venue.
With a private bar and smoking area, the Parlour Bar is the perfect escape. Tucked away on the bustling streets of Wexford Streets, you can unwind and celebrate in your own private space.

Upstairs Venue
Looking for a more intimate gig? Want to get up close and personal to your fans and favourite acts?
Whelan’s upstairs venue is open 7 days a week hosting a variety of events including comedy shows, silent disco parties and local bands.
Join us every Mon-Thur for a silent disco where you can dance along to your favourite Indie & Rock classics, or join the midnight revellers for the the Midnight Hour. Every Friday – Saturday from 11pm, we showcase a selection of local acts across a multitude of genres. Check out the event pages on Eventbrite for free entry to the gigs and the Indie Club thereafter.
