MoonTalk is a four-piece Dublin-based band celebrating music for music’s sake. Founded in 2022 by Jack Walsh, Alessandro Loro, Chris May and Kevin Huang Wu, MoonTalk is more than just a band. It is a concept, an artistic vision, a celebration of music. The band was born out of four friends who see their project as an unfiltered discovery of themselves as artists. They share an unconditional love for music in all its forms and genres, believing it to be a potent medium to share emotions and stories that resonate with people from the most diverse backgrounds.
Their musical style is a unique and hyperbolic merge of several musical influences, including jazz, blues, rock, and world music. This diversity directly reflects each member’s different cultural and musical background. MoonTalk aims to synthesize these differences into a new and unexplored sonic world, ultimately bringing music back to the centre of attention. MoonTalk is a celebration of music for music’s sake.
After a grandiose debut show at The Grand Social in April 2022, which raised over €1000 devoted to Turkey following its devastating earthquake in 2022, the band released their first self-recorded and self-produced album, Tomorrow Can’t Know, their first artistic statement.
They’re now recording their second album, which will be released in 2024.
