Whelanslive.com are proud to bring you The Midnight Hour. Showcasing the best new talent in Ireland & beyond.

Floor Show are a Dublin Based 4 Piece formed in late 2020 out of the ashes of a previous band with the aim to quickly build a set that was ready to gig once live shows returned in late 2021. Although all the members knew each other from being in college together, the band started out initially with Sean (guitar) and Andrew (Bass), the lineup was quickly filled out with Jessi coming on on vocals and a second Sean taking his place behind the kit. With styles ranging from primarily shoegaze and dream pop, to post punk and elements of noise rock, Floor Show’s musical influences include artists such as My bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Gilla Band, Portishead, Swans, Sonic Youth, Ringo Deathstarr and Amyl & the Sniffers among many others.

Before even taking on any live shows, the band decided to go into the studio and record two singles with Daniel Doherty(Darklands Studio), the first of which, ‘Walls’, was released on December 3rd 2021 and had heavy shoegaze influences and lead to the opportunity to record a live video for John Barker’s(98FM) TiLT showcase in the Button Factory Venue in Dublin. The second single, ‘Come Home’, was released in late February 2022, has a much softer dream pop influenced sound, and has received significant radio play on alternative music radio shows in Ireland and some in the UK, as well as being play listed by BBC Radio Ulster in March 2022. The band have already made plans to get back into the studio in June and hope to have further releases ready in July.

Having only played a handful of shows since the live scenes return, one of which was a live showcase in Dublin Button Factory venue, and having just supported Naked Lungs in Dublin’s Workmans club in March, the band aim to press on and gig as much as possible over the next few months. Further shows are in the works and will be announced in due course.
