Honoring the legacy of Carmen McRae, Rufina Tishina and her quartet are excited to present a selection of songs and arrangements from McRae’s incredible discography. McRae was a jazz vocalist and pianist most renowned for her behind the beat phrasing and sophisticated interpretation of lyrics. During her career she performed with the likes of Benny Carter, Count Basie and Mercer Ellington and recorded albums with the finest jazz musicians of her generation. Come and join Rufina Tishina and her band as they present and re-live Carmen McRae’s music as part of Lulu’s Jazz Club in Whealan’s.
