Although probably more well known for promoting local talent on radio, at gigs and online for the last quarter of a century, with On The Verge Productions, Brendan Hickey been writing poetry since the late sixties. However he only released his debut album ”Vergions” produced by Karl Odlum in 2010.

“A welcome break from the predictability of much that passes for cutting edge rock” – Jackie Hayden’s “First Cuts” Pick of the Fortnight Hot Press.

Brendan’s second album “Melting into Oneness”, also produced by Karl Odlum, was released in 2013 and continued with the formula of using local composers to write accompanying pieces for his words.

“An excellent album of sheer beauty, and elegance with a tinge of darkness, from a well read Dublin poet. This time, instead of giving the accolades, he receives one from me” – Gigspy – Gig Spy

His third album “Convergence” produced by Colin Scallan, was launched as a limited edition last year. This album was sound designed by Brendan and gives a nod to the genres of music that he has enjoyed during his three score and ten years on the planet.

Over the last fifteen years, Brendan has done memorable live gigs with his band The Launch Crew (Robin James Hurt, Mick Morris, Cion O’Callaghan, Colin Scallan) including at The Electric Picnic, Ruby Sessions, JJ Smyth’s, Whelan’s etc.
