To celebrate his fourth studio album ‘To Carry A Whale’, Benjamin Francis Leftwich announces a headline show at Whelans, Dublin on 13th February 2022. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster this Friday at 9am.
‘‘To Carry A Whale’ is due for release on 19th June 2021. He has released ‘Cherry In Tacoma’ and ‘Oh My God Please’ as singles from the album. You can view his performance of ‘Oh My God Please’ here.
To Carry A Whale is the first album Leftwich recorded entirely sober, marking a significant milestone, marking a significant milestone on his journey towards a positive personal headspace. After spending almost one month in rehab in January 2018, he is determined to maintain this state for good.
Benjamin speaks about the origin of the album: “It’s an observation on what it’s like to be a sober alcoholic addict a couple of years in,” Leftwich reveals. “A whale is heavy to carry. It’s gonna hurt you to carry it. But it’s also beautiful, and it’s a miracle to be able to carry all that at all.”
